How do you test if your CPU has Intel VT-X?
If you are using AMD CPU, you need to test Intel VT-X if you are using Intel based CPU and AMD-V. They have the same technology provided by two different processor manufacturers. Whether your CPUT is Intel or AMD is your first task. Use WIN + X and then select System. This will launch a list of the types of processors listed. Now take a deep dive to see if virtualization is enabled or supported on your computer.
1. Task Manager CPU Details
➤Protected equipment
➤Check if you have Intel VT-X
➤Uses processor details
➤Run the Intel utility
➤Check if you have AMD-V
- Use Ctrl + Shift + Esc to launch Task Manager
- Switch to Performance Tab, and select CPU
- On the bottom right of the section, check if you have Virtualization as enabled
2. Run Intel Processor Identification Utility
- Install and run the Intel Processor Identification Utility.
- Double-click the Intel Processor identification Utility on the desktop to open.
- Select the CPU Technologies tab.
- Check to look if the Intel Virtualization Technology box is checked.
- If checked, then the Intel Virtualization Technology is enabled, and if the Intel VT -x with Extended Page Tables is equipped.
