How to Change Mouse Settings on Windows 10

Windows 10 gives you multiple customization options for your mouse, so you have flexibility in how your cursor behaves. In this guide, we will follow you in the available settings and what their impact is on your pointer.

Start the Settings on (Win + I keyboard).

Click on "Device" section. Click on "Mouse" page in the left menu of the Settings section. You can customize the general mouse function here, or click the "Additional Mouse Options" link for more advanced settings.

Before we leave it is worth mentioning that the mouse settings of Windows 10 are still divided across control panels and settings applications. The mouse page of the Settings app is currently highly basic and has only one option that you will not find on the control panel find

Primary mouse button and scroll wheel We'll go to Settings first, so open the app (Win + I keyboard shortcut), click the "Devices" section, and then navigate from the menu to the "Mouse" page.

F
The page lets you customize the activity of the scroll wheel and change which mouse button works as preliminary. The mouse wheel can be created to scroll through lines or full screens (if you press the page up/page down button) and you can customize how many lines or screens you should scroll to at once. Per description, it allows you to scroll over the contents of a window on your desktop and using the mouse wheel. The last toggle button on the page, "Scroll the inactive windows when I hover over them" is not the only mouse setting available on the control panel. This feature was new for Windows 10. You can access these with the "Additional Mouse Options" link to the right of the Mouse Settings page. This will bring "mouse property" popups that have not changed much in many generations of windows operating systems.

Pointer Checks speed and sensitivity

The Pointer option tab applies more directly to your mouse activity. The first set of options is related to the movement of your cursor. You can control how the cursor speeds up faster to reduce or increase the effective sensitivity of your mouse, there is also an "Enhanced Pointer Accuracy" checkbox, which effectively adjusts the sensitivity regarding how quickly you can move the mouse. As you move slowly to select a small button, Windows will adjust sensitivity on-fly to keep the cursor speed specific. If you have gaming or professional mouse, you need to note that both pointer speed and accuracy options can conflict with the DPI and sensitivity settings provided by your mouse.

The second section of the Pointer Options tab controls "Snap To" an accessibility feature that automatically removes your cursor as new popups open on your screen. Your cursor will automatically "snap" the default button on each popup, so you won't need to move your mouse to press "OK."
Finding Cursor Now, the "Visibility" part, you can control when the cursor should be hidden. You can disable the "Hide pointer while typing" check box by hiding automatic cursor. Using the "Display Pointer Trails" option, it is possible to screen the pointer trails that track your mouse across the screen if you have trouble following the cursor track a final usability shake is "I show the pointer position when i press the CTRL key" - a self-explanatory checkbox that "lost my mouse" can be effective in this situation.
